SNAP-8

What is SNAP-8?

To use lyophilized (freeze-dried) SNAP-8 for topical applications, you are essentially creating a "booster" or a finished serum. Because peptides are delicate, the way you handle the powder determines whether the final product actually works or becomes an inactive liquid.

1. The Reconstitution Math

To turn a 10mg lyophilized vial into a topical solution, you must first turn the powder into a liquid concentrate using a "vehicle" (usually distilled water or a high-quality Hyaluronic Acid).

For a 10% Concentration (High Potency):
• Vial Size: 10mg SNAP-8
• Liquid Base: 10ml of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Serum or Distilled Water.
• The Result: A 1mg/ml solution, which is the standard "research strength" for topical application.

For a 30ml Bottle (Standard Serum Size):
• If you want a 30ml bottle of serum at a 10% active strength, you should ideally use 3 vials of 10mg SNAP-

2. Step-by-Step Reconstitution Protocol
Peptides are prone to "shearing," meaning the molecular bonds can break if handled roughly.
A. Equalize Pressure: Take a sterile syringe and pull 1ml of air into it. Insert it into the SNAP-8 vial to "pop" the vacuum seal. This prevents the liquid from rushing in too fast and damaging the peptide.
B. Slow Drip: Using a syringe, draw up your 2ml of Distilled Water (or Bacteriostatic Water if you want it to last longer). Aim the needle at the side wall of the vial so the liquid dribbles down slowly onto the powder.
C. The Gentle Swirl: Never shake. Gently swirl the vial between your palms until the powder is completely dissolved and the liquid is clear.
D. The Transfer: Use the syringe to draw the now-liquid SNAP-8 out of the vial and inject it into your larger bottle of Hyaluronic Acid serum or base cream.
E. Inversion: Turn the final serum bottle upside down 5–10 times to ensure the peptide is evenly distributed.

3. The Topical Cycle & Application

Topical SNAP-8 works through cumulative saturation of the skin tissue.

• Loading Phase (Weeks 1-4): Apply twice daily (morning and night). During this time, the peptide is building up in the tissue to start "destabilizing" the SNARE complex.

• Maintenance Phase (Weeks 5-8): Continue twice daily for maximum results. By week 8, you should see the peak "relaxed" effect on expression lines.

• The "Reset" (Week 9+): You can continue indefinitely, but many researchers take a 2-week break every 3 months to ensure the skin remains responsive to the peptide signaling.

4. Critical Stability Rules
If you don't follow these, the peptide will likely degrade before the 8-week cycle is over:

• The Fridge is Mandatory: Once SNAP-8 is in liquid form (reconstituted), it is highly unstable at room temperature. It must stay in the refrigerator (2-8 degrees Celsius.

• Avoid Acidic Mixing: Do not mix SNAP-8 into a serum that contains high concentrations of Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) or AHAs/BHAs. Acids break peptide bonds. Apply your acids first, wait 20 minutes for your skin's pH to neutralize, then apply your SNAP-8.

• Light Shielding: Store your final serum in an amber or opaque bottle. UV light will denature the peptide.

5. Summary Checklist

Item Requirement
Solvent Distilled Water or Bacteriostatic Water
Base Pure Hyaluronic Acid (no oils or acids)
Storage Refrigerator (Cold and Dark)
Application Damp skin (improves penetration)

6. The 8-Week Topical Cycle
To see the "Botox-like" relaxation of expression lines, you must follow a strict application cadence.

Weeks 1–4 (Saturation Phase):
Frequency: 2x Daily (Morning & Night).
Goal: Sating the skin tissue with the peptide to begin interfering with the SNARE complex (muscle contraction signals).

Weeks 5–8 (Results Phase):
Frequency: 2x Daily.
Goal: At this stage, the reduction in dynamic wrinkle depth becomes most visible.
Post-Cycle (Maintenance):
You can drop to once daily (at night) to maintain the effect or take a 2-week break before starting again.

7. Application Rules for Maximum Absorption
Because SNAP-8 is a relatively large molecule for a peptide, you need to help it get past the skin's top layer:

--Apply to Damp Skin: Use a face mist or apply immediately after washing. Wet skin is significantly more permeable.

--Targeted Tapping: Focus heavily on the forehead, "11" lines between the eyes, and crow's feet. Tap the serum in with your fingertips to stimulate blood flow.

The Layering Order:
1. Cleanse.
2. SNAP-8 Serum.
3. Wait 2 minutes.
4. Moisturizer / Sunscreen / Oils.

8. Storage & Stability Reminder
Keep it Cold: Once mixed, the peptide bonds are "active" and will degrade if left on a bathroom counter. Keep your serum bottle in the refrigerator.

Avoid the "Peptide Killers": Do not apply SNAP-8 at the exact same time as strong Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) or Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic/Lactic). The high acidity will "unravel" the peptide chain. Use your acids in the morning and SNAP-8 at night, or vice versa.
