ARA-290

What is ARA-290?

ARA-290 is a specialized peptide derived from the structure of Erythropoietin (EPO), but with a critical twist: it does not increase red blood cell production. Instead, it targets the Innate Repair Receptor (IRR), which is activated during tissue injury or inflammation.

In research, it is primarily studied for its ability to treat neuropathic pain (nerve pain), small fiber neuropathy, and chronic inflammatory conditions.

1. Reconstitution & Dosage
ARA-290 is typically dosed much higher than most other peptides, often coming in 10mg or 50mg vials.

• Reconstitution: Add 2ml of Bacteriostatic Water to a 10mg vial.
• The Concentration: This creates 5mg per 1ml.
• Syringe Measurement (U-100 Insulin Syringe):
o 20 units (0.20ml) = 1mg
o 80 units (0.80ml) = 4mg (Standard clinical research dose)

Common Research Dosages:
• Clinical Standard: 4mg per day.
• Frequency: Once daily.
• Note: Because of the high volume of liquid (80 units), many researchers prefer to split this into two 40-unit injections (morning and night) to avoid discomfort at the injection site.

2. The Cycle (Duration & Timing)
ARA-290 is usually run in short, intensive bursts to "quench" nerve inflammation.

Phase Duration Frequency
Intensive Cycle 28 Days (4 Weeks) Once Daily
Maintenance 2–4 Weeks 2-3x per week
The Break 4–8 Weeks OFF

Timing: It can be administered at any time, but many researchers prefer morning injections to combat nerve pain throughout the day.

3. Administration
• Subcutaneous (SubQ): Standard abdominal fat injection.
• Volume Caution: Since 4mg is a large volume of liquid for a SubQ shot, ensure you rotate sites diligently to avoid "pooling" or localized irritation.

4. Storage & Stability
• Refrigeration: Must be kept in the fridge after mixing.
• Shelf Life: It is relatively stable but best consumed within 21–30 days of reconstitution.
• Pre-filled Syringes: Because the daily dose often uses nearly a full syringe, some researchers pre-fill a week’s worth and keep them in the fridge to save time.

5. Potential Side Effects
ARA-290 is known for having a very clean safety profile in clinical trials.
• Injection Site Redness: Due to the high volume of the dose.
• Immediate Relief: Some report a "cooling" sensation or a rapid reduction in nerve tingling shortly after injection.
• No EPO Effects: It does not thicken the blood or affect hemoglobin levels.

The "Nerve Repair" Stack

Researchers often stack ARA-290 with BPC-157:
1. ARA-290: Shuts down the "alarm" signal of inflamed nerves.
2. BPC-157: Promotes the actual physical repair of the protective sheath around the nerves.
